This shibari lesson is an overview.
It will talk about what is shibari, what are the risks, what places on the human body are more or less safe to connect, how to reduce the risk of injury, what to do if an injury has occurred and many other issues.
Please listen to this lesson carefully. It is important to understand that the private opinion of the instructor is expressed here, that each person is unique and that there are always several options for making any kind of bondage.
Shibari uses a few simple knots.
This lesson is devoted to the main knots and methods of attaching the rope to the harness and to the suspension point.
Here we will consider not so much the nodes as the nuances of their application.
Most of the lesson is about tying the rope to the harness and attaching to the fixation point, which is critical if you are working with suspensions or semi-suspensions.
I draw your attention to the fact that the options for knots for binding Single Column tie are discussed in detail in the corresponding lesson.
The basic scheme of shibari.
Single Column tie – the binding of one arm, leg or other extended object. This is the basic shibari harness. In the lesson, it will be disassembled in steps, with comments and variations, with usage tips.
The scheme of binding of two arms or legs.
Double Column tie – the second basic shibari binding used when tying two arms, legs, a bent leg or arm and any two extended objects. It is good to use the same basic scheme by tying an arm or leg to something solid (a chair, bamboo, headboard). In the lesson, it will be disassembled in steps, with comments and variations, with usage tips.
An important lesson in shibari training.
Rope control – rope control: one of the most important binding skills. This lesson tells about the need for proper tension and its constancy, to avoid torsion and crossing the rope, to control the running end. An exercise to develop the rope control skill is shown.
Learning the binding by extending the rope.
Tying the free part of the rope – continue to bind the rest of the rope, running end. In this lesson we learn how to create the simplest shibari bindings ( Single Column tie and Double Column tie ) while obtaining a single and more complex structure. We connect the simplest second-order shibari scheme.
Scheme of tying back arms tied to the chest.
This lesson is about Box tie – one of the most common shibari patterns, which has many names: box tie , gote, takate-kote, ushiro takatekote, 2TK, chest harness. In this scheme, the shibari hands are tied back at the wrists in a horizontal position and then tied to the chest with the shoulders grasped.
Bent leg binding patterns – futomo.
Futomomo variations – bending the bent leg: another of the most common shibari techniques. In this lesson, we’ll look at three different shibari patterns for tying a bent knee.
Tying the waist, pelvis and hips in a shibari.
Hip harness is another common shibari scheme. In this lesson we will consider one convenient and functional pattern.
